London Documentary Wedding Photography
A calm, unobtrusive approach
I photograph weddings for couples who want to feel fully present on their day — not posed, directed, or constantly aware of a camera. Based in London, I work across the UK and beyond, documenting weddings in a natural, unobtrusive way.
“Will photographed our wedding in August 2024 and provided the perfect service” — Lauren & Matt
I work quietly and attentively, allowing events to unfold naturally while focusing on the people, relationships, and moments that matter most. The aim isn’t to create photographs that look impressive on the day, but images that feel honest and meaningful when you return to them years later.
How I work
I’m a London-based wedding photographer and photograph weddings across the UK and further afield. Over the years, I’ve worked with couples from many different backgrounds and cultures, and in a wide variety of settings — from small, intimate gatherings to larger, more energetic celebrations.
“Captured so many wonderful candid moments throughout the day, from the ceremony to the dancefloor” — Helena & Alex
Whatever the scale or setting, my role remains the same: to observe rather than interrupt, to anticipate rather than control, and to document the day as it naturally happens.
What it feels like
Couples often tell me they felt at ease having me there. That sense of calm is intentional.
I believe the best wedding photographs come from trust, patience, and allowing people to be themselves — not from staging or direction. When people feel comfortable, the moments that matter most tend to surface on their own.
If this resonates with you
I’d love to hear about your plans - whether you’re getting married in London or elsewhere in the UK. A few details about your day, your venue, and what matters most to you is more than enough to begin a conversation.

Background
I began photographing weddings in 2006.
My interest in photography started earlier, studying the subject from the age of sixteen and completing four years of photography, art and design education at Bournemouth and Poole College and Wiltshire College in Salisbury. During that time I worked with 35mm, medium-format and 5×4 cameras and learned traditional darkroom processes in black and white and colour.
Between 2008 and 2009 I worked in a science laboratory as a Fresh Water Biologist while continuing to photograph weddings, gradually building experience through real events rather than staged situations.
I’ve photographed weddings across London, Cambridge, the UK and occasionally abroad. Much of my work has grown through personal recommendation, including multiple weddings for the same families over several years, as well as celebrations at venues such as Manor Barn and Longstowe Hall in Cambridge.
Alongside my own commissions, I’ve also worked in collaboration with other established photographers as an associate for over a decade, particularly on large-scale weddings and events. These included Jewish celebrations of 200–400 guests in London and across surrounding counties and Manchester, as well as Indian weddings in London, Essex and Hertfordshire. Those experiences strengthened my ability to work calmly and attentively in fast-moving environments.
Earlier in my career I worked with my uncle, Tony Edenden, a professional sports photographer and later photojournalist, helping produce books of his work photographed in England and India. That experience shaped my interest in sequencing images and telling stories through photographs.
I continue to visit exhibitions and collect photobooks. They remain a constant reference point for how I see and understand photographs.

"Will photographed our wedding in August 2024 and provided the perfect service. He took time to meet with us prior to the event to understand what we were looking for and was receptive to all of our requests. On the day he provided excellent guidance on where we could get the best shots and helped the two of us feel relaxed in front of the camera. He also worked late into the night to ensure that all the action from the dance floor was captured - the results are amazing! Highly recommend."
